Get Unstuck And Overcome Fear of Being Judged

Having the mindset of a 4 year old child, can actually be great for you in some cases. When you remember back to your childhood, you had very few fears and were more than willing to hop on that bike and fall down repeatedly. You certainly didn’t worry about being judged as you dumped your spaghetti on your head or scribbled out a masterpiece with your crayons. As we grow up, we develop a number of fears that can cripple us, while leaving the lesser ones…such as the fear of a dark closet or something under the bed, behind in our childhood.

The fears we have today, such as fear of failure, embarrassment and being judged, can be dissolved. It just takes the commitment to self-discipline yourself to face those fears and conquer them.

There are techniques that have been proven to overcome fears. One that you can use is visualization. Use the example of someone who works from home and wants to grow their business. They have determined that using LinkedIn and attending networking meetings with other business professionals, will have a significant impact on their business. Time starts to go by and four months later, they have not signed up for a meeting with other business owners yet. They feel totally stuck and the inability to move forward is causing them stress and even a bit of depression.

By sitting down and visualizing the entire process, they now have a completely different feeling about attending the meeting. In their mind, they see themselves getting dressed for success and entering the meeting feeling super confident. As they continue seeing and hearing the entire process, valuable connections are made that will add a lot of business revenue.

In any situation, whether in person or on the phone, visualizing yourself as confident and able to handle any situation, will get you unstuck. It takes repeated practice to remove the negative thoughts from your head.

Overcoming fear and getting yourself unstuck can also be done by biting off chunks. Instead of trying to overcome all your fears and self-confidence issues at once, break it into smaller bites. Once you overcome a fear, your confidence grows and you can look to the next one on your list. Facing your fears head on like a knight fighting a fire breathing dragon, can be exhilarating. The feeling of accomplishment will outweigh that former fear.

There are always going to be people that are more than happy to judge you. Sadly this may even include some family members. You can talk with them and find out why they think that judging you is an appropriate thing to do. In having a calm, frank talk, they may discover that they do not fully understand you and how you conduct your life.

In the end, you need to be aware that outer judgement should not have an impact on your life. Think of it as if judgement is an icy cold rain on a January day. You choose whether or not you want to go out and how you protect yourself from that icy cold sleet trying to slap you in the face.

When you know yourself and are fully committed to your beliefs and principals, outside judgement will have little effect on you.

To fully guard against the fear of being judged, it is advised to a very specific affirmation you can repeat daily. The more you repeat your affirmation with conviction, your subconscious mind will adopt it. Having your subconscious mind onboard is essential because it will work in the background for you, improving your life. Try an affirmation such as, “Everything is wonderful and I am more than enough.” You can shine like the brightest star, when you take the time to work on being the best you.
