Often there are times when everything seems to go wrong despite one’s hardest efforts. During these times, a positive attitude is the key to personal motivation that will help a person regain his stamina and come out of the rough patch easily.

You should never blame yourself for things that naturally seem to go wrong in life. Always remember, you can’t avoid certain things in life. . You should always remember that tomorrow brings the hope of a new day.

Most days turn out to be positive for people, but there will always be occasional pitfalls when nothing seems to go right. Just accept that you’ve had a bad day and move on knowing that better days will follow. Release the stress that came today and have faith that tomorrow will be better. Most of the days in an individual’s life bring about positive results. If you can maintain a positive attitude regardless of what might happen, the bad days will be kept to a bare minimum.

Always remember that a positive attitude will help you recover quicker in times of distress. Some bad days will motivate you to have an even more positive attitude so that you can learn from the mistakes of today for a better tomorrow.

The situation may be extremely difficult. But a positive attitude will help you overcome irrespective of how bad the situation is and you will definitely regain your confidence and self respect.

Hard times will always appear in life. But they seem less hard when life is viewed optimistically. No matter how a hard life may seem at some stage, a positive attitude will help you keep your head clear and allow you to think steadily so that you can find the right solution.

Even at work, a positive attitude will help you keep your calm and you will be able to do all the tasks that need to be done to improve the situation. You will be able to end your day on an optimistic note. Even when you don’t see an end to your dark days, having a positive attitude will help you get back on your feet quicker. The illness or the disappointment will pass sooner. You should not break down simply because you don’t feel fit and fine. Real strength and stamina come from learning to be optimistic and believing that time will soon change for the better.

No one is flawless. Making mistakes is a natural part of life. You must learn from your mistakes and be prepared for the future. You should not always blame yourself and lose your composure when something goes wrong.

Make this a positive learning opportunity for the future. It is easy to maintain a positive attitude when times are smooth. It is only when you can do the same during rougher times that you can achieve happiness and success much faster.

Successful people are identifiable by their masterful positive attitude, which makes it appear as if there’s nothing that they couldn’t achieve if they wanted and nothing they couldn’t possess! It is a positive attitude which separates the successful from the losers: a self realized energy that propels towards success as opposed to a self defeating one that creates problems and provokes suffering in life.

Positive attitude is a state and condition of your mind that allows you to handle stress with optimism and patience, promoting hope and nullifying despair. This empowers you to be undeterred by problems, maintain your focus and continue to persevere without frustration, and thus eventually overcome all problems.

So if you have been a pessimist and have been filled with negative thoughts, here are some motivation tips to get rid of your problem, embrace your cherished goals and develop a positive attitude.

1. When you sense any signs of negativity or pessimism creeping into your mind, immediately check your thoughts and stop: Instead try to imagine and visualize your favorite memories, expectations or ideals.

2. Experts recommend another way to banish negative thoughts from your mind, a mechanism which involves two basic stages: The first which drives away negative thoughts and emotions, and the second which allows negativity to be infiltrated and overcome with positive thoughts and feelings.

3. Talking to yourself and repeating positive affirmations are proven techniques to develop a positive mindset. So compose your personal pep talk or motivation statement and make it a point to talk to yourself regularly.

4. Another helpful way is to make posters or sticky notes carrying positive and affirmative statements such as: I can do it, Success is mine, My goal is within reach, etc, and to put them up around your home or workplace where you are apt see the message regularly, day and night.

5. Try to make the highly successful people be your friends and acquaintances, and try and spend time with them and know their approach. When are in the right company, it will be easy for you to cultivate a positive attitude.

6. Begin to read positive self help books and magazine, or better still the biographies or autobiographies of your heroes. You could also attend relevant seminars and workshops. Bear in mind that a positive attitude is something that only you can cultivate and maintain. It is wholly internal to you which nobody can take away. It requires much time, effort and dedication, but is an invaluable asset.

Where Happiness Come From

October 7, 2010 by SelfHelp

We can find happiness right in our own home, our workplace, in school, in the company of our friends, etc. It is up to us to find the ways and means to achieve that happiness each of us seek and long for. However, it is important to recognize that there is no one absolute way to find happiness. People have different ideas when it comes to the ways of achieving happiness.

The following classifications are perceived by many people as sources of happiness:

(1) Family and friends

(2) Wealth

(3) Position/Rank

(4) Educational Achievement

(5) Fame (i.e. politics, arts, sports)

(1) HAPPINESS IN FAMILY AND FRIENDS

The very first place where happiness dwells is right in our own homes. We find happiness just by being with our family – our parents, spouse, children and grandchildren. In fact, they are our source of strength and inspiration. Having a harmonious home life gives us happiness – one that we truly cherish and treasure.

True friends are also a source of happiness. The support we get from them goes a long way in helping us to get by in times of troubles. Somehow, friends complete our life.

2) HAPPINESS IN WEALTH

A lot of people correlate material goods with contentment. . Almost everywhere in the world, people are preoccupied in the acquisition of wealth. They look upon wealth as the secret to happiness. To some, wealth and happiness are synonymous.

Not that we should despise the rich and the famous or discourage others from aspiring to be so. There is nothing wrong with dreaming of becoming rich just as long as we acknowledge that wealth has limitations. Furthermore, our priorities must be clear from the very start. Clearly, we must know what should rank first in order of priorities lest we spend our days in this world meaninglessly and without hope. The pursuit of material riches should not be on top of our priority list. How many times have we heard of people giving away millions of their wealth just for peace of mind? They live in a state of fear, that is, fear of losing their wealth through robbery or theft. They also fear for their life and the lives of those they love. These fears may lead to sleepless nights, stress, tension, mental anguish, heart attack and death.

Understanding and accepting that happiness has nothing to do with the accumulation of wealth is perhaps the most liberating realization we can ever come to.

3) HAPPINESS IN RANK AND POSITION

Can we achieve real happiness through the attainment of high rank or position in society?

To many, the answer is “yes.” For most people, having a high-ranking position is synonymous to power. Such persons would have the power to rule and lead. If they become “good leaders,” they would be able to lead based on sound moral values and good work ethics. In return, they would earn their people’s trust, obedience, support, loyalty and cooperation. Eventually, they would find happiness and satisfaction doing their job.

However, any person who is entrusted with authority and abuses it would definitely be responsible for misuse of power. His position would only be a source of misery, as he will be confronted with issues such as corruption and problems like loss of public trust, public revolt, coups d’etat, etc.

History can speak for itself. How many unwanted rulers, kings, emperors, and presidents have been overthrown? A good example is former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, who ruled the country for 20 long years, but his reign came to an unfortunate end. He was “thrown” out of his own country by his own people and spent years thereafter in exile.

4) EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Can earning the highest level of education such as doctorate degrees give happiness? For people who derive happiness from learning, knowledge is power. Some successful people have attained high levels of education.

However, we hear about professional people who are successful in their own fields and yet feel miserable and depressed because they feel that something is missing in their life. We hear of doctors being sued for malpractice and negligence, of judges committing suicide, and of many other sad stories that are hard to believe but are actually happening to professional people. Does education really guarantee happiness?

5) HAPPINESS IN FAME

Fame is also associated with happiness. In sports and various careers, it is translated to victory, winning, and attaining the status of a celebrity.  Are famous men and women happy?

Let’s take the case of sportsmen. They practically devote their whole lifetime practicing to be the best at their chosen sport. However, sports can sometimes be so stressful, especially when they are carried to the extreme. Imagine the kind of pressure sportsmen have to go through to win over a game. To cope with high expectations, they take prohibited drugs to have the stamina and endurance required in their chosen field!

Consider the despair, embarrassment, shame, and ridicule that they have to endure whenever they lose a game! So, let us ask ourselves – can a life exposed to such pressures and humiliation be a truly happy life?

For many, the future is bleak. The continuing escalation of prices, natural and man-made calamities, terrorism, local and global strife, family problems, poverty, criminality, famines and other crises do bring desperation and hopelessness.

Can we still find happiness in such a depressing situation? Yes, it is still possible to find happiness in such dire predicaments! What happens around us is largely beyond our control, but the way we choose to react is within our control. In short, even in the midst of difficulties in life, we can still make happiness happen; that is, if we want and choose to make it happen. True enough, life is what we make it!  Isn’t this a wonderful discovery?

Understanding Bipolar Disorder as compared to Depression

August 17, 2010 by SelfHelp

It is easy to diagnose depression versus an anxiety disorder, since their symptoms are radically different. However, when comparing an Anxiety Disorder to Bipolar Disorder, it becomes much more challenging.

People with a Bipolar Disorder, while manic also produce symptoms similar to an anxiety disorder. These two conditions, nonetheless, do vary greatly in their diagnosis and their treatment.

While there are often bouts of physical reaction, panic attacks and similar symptoms, someone with Bipolar Disorder does reflect radically variant symptoms as well.  Because the manic element permeates their frequent bouts of uncontrolled, radical and reckless behavior the presence of a bipolar condition is readily evident to a therapist or physician.  The patient who is severely depressed is rarely overinflated with ego and a feeling of invincibility, while the bipolar manic – albeit when they are ‘out’ – often feels indestructible, leading to the aberrant behavior characterized by extreme risk and outright stupidity. The key here in accurate diagnosis is one of consistency, with a depressed person perpetually – until and unless treated – feeling a reduced confidence and self-worth while the bipolar sufferer feels that same depression only when they are not manic.

The other symptoms of a Bipolar Disorder include restlessness mixed with racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating on simple cognitive assignments, poor and high-risk judgment combined with reckless behavior and wildly racing and disconnected thoughts.

Medical science now recognizes that the presence of more than one disorder is the norm rather than the exception.   Most professionals agree now that a multi-depressive disorder almost always accompanies either Anxiety or Bipolar Disorder.

Treating Depression and Anxiety Disorders requires similar medication and regimens.  However, the treatment of a Bipolar Disorder requires a totally different prescription of both medication and therapy.  Depression sufferers as well as Anxiety Sufferers respond well to a mix of antidepressants and tranquilizers, while Bipolar sufferers only respond to combined dosages of mood stabilizers and anti-manic drugs.

Many professionals disagree on the basic approach in treating patients with a combination of disorders. It was previously believed that the proper approach was to start by attacking the depression, both because its symptoms were easier to monitor during treatment and also because the depression generally prevents radical improvements in either anxiety or bipolar episodes.  Now, however, most professionals agree that there is not one course of treatment, but one that varies by specific symptoms, severity, and overall health condition.  This alone will minimize the symptoms and prevent anxiety attacks.

Are you a pro at procrastination?

Good business coaching can save you time and money.  As we all learned in school, procrastination is the thief of time. This tendency to put jobs off until some time in the future , to avoid doing jobs that really ought to  be done is a more common disease than the flu.

And yet, how productive and rewarding our lives could be if we conquered this mental malady. How much less stressful our lives would be if we did not allow ourselves to be mentally burdened with unfinished tasks hanging over us.

People cite a number of causes for  procrastinating from negative self talk, “ I can never seem to get this done right  ,” to being unclear about the task or not seeing the relevance of the task, to finding the task boring – especially true with repetitive tasks, to poor time management.

Regsardless of the excuse or reason, procrastination is a mental thing and with the right motivation we can learn to rise to the occasion “mentally,” and get it done. Boring and repetitive tasks are often the most difficult to find motivation for.

In the business world, procrastination drains massive amounts of profit .  With procrastinators, the coffee pot, the water fountain, the smoking – they all arrest inertia. And yet, just creating movement is quite often all that is needed to change the inertia.  Motion encourages more motion.

Procrastination isn’t just something that afflicts employees, it also affects business owners – especially when things aren’t going well.  To fix procrastination in the workplace, the best place to begin is with the owner or manager of the business.  It’s a bit of a rude ask to get your team to stop procrastinating if you do it yourself all the time. .

If you find that you repeatedly have difficulty motivating yourself to start and complete tasks on a personal level, or if you own a business and you have employees who have difficulty reaching deadlines, you may be well served to secure the services of a business coach who is adept at teaching people to overcome procrastination. Business owners and employees both enjoy the workplace much more when they have learned to self start and overcome procrastination.

Influenced By Our Past Lives

We can be affected in many ways by our own past lives. One cause we may want to experience past life regression is for the advantages of learning about things that have happened previously. There are at times past problems that can have entrenched lasting effects on our current life. By working out the problems using past life regression, the changes can be an immense help.

The ability to access your past life is available to everyone. Many people believe that you have to go to someone to find out about past lives. The truth is you can do this for yourself. When you learn how to do this you will be able to explore your past in the privacy of your own home.

Usually an exercise that will get you ready to explore your past life will have to be practiced for a period of time. This will allow you to get the most out of your past life regression experience. Patience is one of the keys to learning how to do this as well as the desire.

You must slacken your body and mind so that you are receptive to the past life experiences. Your whole focus should be on doing only this when starting. The more times you do this the deeper you will be able to go within yourself. This is the result that you want because this helps you to get the answers you need.

You may either lie down or sit – whichever is more comfortable for you. If you do sit up however, you must be comfortably seated and relaxed. The exercise to relax you has to be done in a totally quiet place and where no one will rile you. But remember to do so when you have had a good night’s rest so you can stay waken.

Consulting your spiritual guardians or whatever you have faith in to be with you while you are regressing is another angle. Ask them to be with you and protect you. You should not take this exercise past 45 minutes. The preferred way to prompt yourself is to set the timer on your watch or a clock where it will help you to memorize.

Choose a reason for regressing. It may be that you are searching for answers to certain questions. It could also be what you need to see or what you are here to accomplish. When doing this exercise, you must be totally relaxed so make sure every portion of your body is in a calm condition. The journey to your inner sanctum will be your objective. Imagine a door at the bottom of a set of stairs. Once you have descended the stairs you can make a option. You can sit and rest for a little while or go on through the door which is the door to your past lives. But you do not have to enter it yet. If you want to save this for another time, that is utterly fine.

The crucial thing is that you have walked to the exit and once you walk out you will be travelling to the universe of your past lives. This is the whole basis for the exercise. Learning how to relax to get to the exit is just 50% of the war. Everything you find from now on will only help you to understand why you who you are.

There are many ways that people regress to their past but one thing to remember is that everyone is unequaled. The things you learn and the person you see as you will be helpful to you when it comes to learning how to handle your present life.

Give In Order To Succeed

Charity is the key element in most religions, especially the six major world religions. The Bible mentions charity numerous times in the New Testament and offerings even more often in the Old Testament. Islam’s sacred writing mentions the term charity throughout the Quran, especially in its first and longest Surah, The Cow.  Though the word charity isn’t used in Hindu writings, the premise of giving and aiding others is prevalent within the Rig Veda, Thirukkural, Bhagawad Gita, and other writings. Concerning charity in Buddhism, H.H. The Dalai Lama has stated, “… from the time of Buddha until today all forms of Buddhism have been continuously trying to help people, whether in social groups or individually … The freedom and happiness of all living beings have always been the ultimate ideal and the working goal.” The sixth major world religion is Skihism, which carries a synthesized belief system from Islam and Hinduism.

Additionally, the Bible’s Old Testament has several references to the word “sevenfold” and the phrase “seven times”, stating that what you put out through your actions (energy) comes back to you seven times stronger.

It’s the way the universe works. It’s a fundamental part of our lives. When you seek success in anything, you tend to focus totally on the goal and the process of getting there. That’s a problem. The more you chase after your own goals and pursue your self-interest, the more they elude you. When only focus on doing for yourself, you get off your purpose.

What you have inside you, you radiate . What you give off, you attract to you. If you’re focusing on your own self-interests, it’s the same as being greedy. You’re only concerned with receiving, which means you don’t give. If you don’t give, the universe doesn’t give back to you. When you give freely only to help others without concern for what you’ll receive in return, then the universe gives back to you in greater amounts. It’s as simple as that. That realization is the start of a new spirituality for you

You attract what you give, what’s inside of you. If you give love, respect and empowerment, the universe returns what you radiate sevenfold. If you give of yourself in terms of time and money, the universe returns your giving sevenfold.

Tammy is a single parent, who was having trouble making ends meet. She had been let go from her job and received no child support. Jobs were scarce and the rent was coming due. No matter what she did, she seemed to fail. The more she scrimped and worried, the worse her situation became.  One day while visiting and keeping her mother company, they watched the 700 Club. There were a couple families on the show telling about how they were having serious financial problems. The people had seen the 700 Club’s message about giving. Needless to say, Tammy decided to give ten percent of the little she had to the 700 Club’s Operation Blessing and begin cherishing what she and her children had, rather than focusing on what they didn’t have. Less than a week after giving to the charity, she found a job, allowing her to keep her apartment. She continued to give ten percent of her salary, regardless of her needs, and the universe continued to give to her in abundance. She now owns her own business and just purchased a new home. We have heard stories like Tammy’s many times.  In each case, when they experience this spiritual awakening, the people take the focus off themselves and their problems, give only for the purpose of giving and helping others, and receive sevenfold for their gift to the universe.

Stress and Panic Disorders

July 17, 2010 by SelfHelp

Quite a lot of individuals invest some amount of time thinking regarding dilemma which takes place in each of our day-to-day lives yet for a lot of us on the other hand, this duration of stress and panic will ultimately get to an conclusion.

However this does not implie that each person has a concern free personal life. Right now there are probably people that waste basically their own overall lifetime stressing and also their anxieties happen to be a component regarding anxiety symptoms in a never closing pattern that can produce an anxiety disorder.

This routine of infinite worry and anxiety is recognised as a mental disorder as compared to a physical problem. Anxiety signs are able to show themselves either physically and psychologically. Panic disorders manifest when each of our mind warns us about a perceived imminent danger that is actually about to occur. In this kind of scenario your own total body is designed to ready itself for a fight or fight response. Your heart, lungs along with some other components of your own overall body will function more rapid and produce anxiety hormones and adrenaline to cope with that time period.

This in turn can easily produce abdominal agony, diarrhea, dry mouth, rapid pulse, palpitations, tightness and discomfort in the chest zone, shortness of breath, indecision, disorientation, frequent urination and even difficulty swallowing. All these are generally just the physical things that stress and anxiety conditions produce.
The mental anxiety discomforts on the other hand can consist of sleep problems, frustration, annoyance, the inability to think straight on diverse day to day duties, a fear of craziness, a concern of losing your own mind and psychological performance, as well as the actual perception of becoming detached from veracity and also not having your ability to control your own behaviour.

In addition to the panic symptoms you may encounter emotional problems too. You can truly feel a frequent feeling of unease that has absolutely nothing to do with your own present circumstances. A person might experience anxiety due to being involved in a tense situation such as demand at job or even a relationship. Next your anxiety signs might rear their heads due to being anxious concerning an illness, true or imagined. Then there is usually your own body’s reaction to perceived risky threats. Almost all of these kind of emotional stresses can and will increase your anxiety signs and symptoms radically.

Whenever you first feel tension the doctor have to be able to identify your own problem. Your medical doctor has to be confident enough to consider if your problems are a medical condition or if they are a mental situation. And once you have been recognized as having an anxiety illness, treatment to cure or deal with your condition may be initiated.
The problems mentioned above may be regarded as anxiety problems if they are of a prolonged or serious condition or if the thoughts of anxiety appear into existence when there is nothing dangerous or stressful to pull them about. Then if these kind of anxiety symptoms start to interfere along with your own everyday life and actions including work and also ethnical situations then you fully understand for sure that you are suffering from anxiety illness.

Even though a person might guess yourself to be suffering from anxiety symptoms it’s actually really a great plan to get your self-diagnosis determined by a trained medical physician that can then start you on the correct course to cure you.
