Self Improvement Books – Important Matters Arising

Through the pages of a real self improvement book you are bound to learn very quickly about the things that you really can do for yourself and the things that you can’t. I don’t know what you may have heard about personal development or self-help from whatever source, but that information is critical to self improvement and your survival if you are a part of the movement.
For a fact, there are self improvement books that miss out on this significant point to the extent that they offer unreal advices and peddle unhelpful ideas. As a result, many Americans who went into self improvement and failed in the process have come under fire as being idealistic and impractical. With their lives falling apart right before their own eyes, they are rarely ever able to answer back.
Back in the days of the Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover made a few critical errors also that caused people to frown on the viability of self improvement as a real way of life. Being a ‘self-made man,’ by himself, he firmly believed in individualism and self-reliance, and asserted that “mutual self-help through voluntary giving” was the way to meet people’s needs in those dire times. It did not work then because it wasn’t the time to take such steps… alone, as Roosevelt proved shortly after, undermining recipients’ self-reliance simply wasn’t a good enough reason for the government not to help.
Every existing book on improvement of self probably has that fact down to a ‘t’ at this time, but it may not be enough to help you sail through the worst that could hit you when you choose to be a do-it-yourselfer.

Online, there are more than a few mp3 downloadable books for self improvement and sales have multiplied greatly in recent times, proving that there are more and more Americans who believe that personal development is really a possibility. Of course a good number of them still ask that nagging question about why few or no do-it-yourselfer is extremely wealthy in the country, and they have good reason to.
Well, even though you are able to try that also, it is important that you do not allow that little fact to depart from the back of your mind. Take the time to learn what wealthy and successful people in the world have been able to achieve, and how they have done so, and then ask yourself if you are doing the same.
I’ll make it simple for you: these great minds and people were largely self-made and self-sufficient, but more than that, they knew how to identify talent in other people and how to bring those talents together to work for them. That is the very secret of self improvement; that is exactly how to become self-made and self sufficient yourself.
Even while you are on the internet downloading your free personal self development books, and joining self-help groups, and generally working hard to become truly independent, you must remember that you’ll never be bigger than you are able to bring forces to work on your behalf. That is self improvement.
But Why Are YOU Not Successful… yet?

It is a critical question that is cleverly avoided because most people really don’t have the answer. Even as self improvement has grown in the United States today, leagues of skeptics have also blossomed such that they perhaps have more printouts in circulation that challenge the truth and reality of self improvement to the very core. The few bumbling personal development authors who dare to answer those questions never quite get very far in their efforts to make people understand because they really do not understand it themselves. It works for them – don’t get the wrong impression – but they sincerely do not know how it happens.
Today, you learn in just a few words what other personal development articles have been unable to teach you. Today you learn that self improvement does not preach total isolation, but sufficiency; today you learn that being independent does not mean being inaccessible or an outsider; today you learn that doing it yourself is not about shunning help when it is offered you, but about knowing when you need it and reaching out for it at your earliest opportunity.
The United States used to belong to Great Britain, you know; but at one time it was determined that the U.S. needed to be a sovereign state. They fought, our forefathers, and they won; and today the United States is one of the greatest independent nations in the world. But the United States is not a nation without allies. Over time, the strongest nations of the world have allied together to fight wars and to win battles, to combat global threats, foster international trade, and generally maintain earth in a precarious precipice. We are doing it ourselves, but we are doing it with the aid of other nations of the world.
Learn it now so that you never forget it: self improvement is about knowing when to seek help and ceasing it the first chance you get, not about isolating yourself and becoming a hermit.
